Return to the 70s....

HEY FASHIONISTA'S,

Summer is here and the weathers pretty swell so time to get your skates to hit the shops for the best summer buys and bargains of 2015....

                        THAT 70S SHOW!!!!

S/S15 is all about cool - earthy vibes, and 70s style has made a big impact all over again to the fashion industry straight off the catwalk and into the high street. With detail in the likes of heavy fringing to leather and suede fabrics in stone, beige and muted colours teamed with off the shoulder loose baggy go with the flow tops, its no wonder this trend is so hot right now. Super Fashion muses like Olivia Palermo & Suki Waterhouse have been seen wearing the trend of the season and you should too....

(Links below)

The fashion era of the 70s was bold, retro and powerful but just remember that sometimes less is more and we are in the modern age of 2015 so to get this trend right pick out a KEY PIECE to make the statement and work around it. Earthy tones are perfect for this trend but there are some great finds in bolder, brighter colours to play around with for a more modern approach to the hottest trend of the season.Add other item trends too like heels and caption tees with a colour pop effect and your own style twist...

The Fringed Gilet
Gilet - Topshop - £85

This super cool find from Topshop would be an investment to your wardrobe this summer as you could team it with so many items and trends. Its definatly worth the £85 in the suede chic material with the heavy fringed detail. Grab it now as I can see this one selling out fast...

Team it with...

Shorts £38 - Topshop  Blouse £29.99 - Zara Boots £278 - Free People@Asos Necklace £16 - Blacktied Choker £4.50 - Claire's Acessories  Watch £171 - Michael Kors@Goldsmiths Bangles £15 - Accessorize Ring £49 - Charlotte's Web@Etsy
The Fringed Skirt

Skirt - H&M - £49.99
There's always the odd outstanding piece you will find when searching on the web page of H&M as in store is always much more successsful but in this case the site came up top. This suede black long fringed skirt is so hot for this seasons ultimate trend and you can where it anytime of day, it works in the evening for a night out and even in the day for a summer BBQ (which we always look forward too) Team with a slogan/band tee and get the cool chic vibe. If your not super model tall this skirt and you wll need the help of some fab high heels, if you wanna go with flats find a shorter version. Try searching for one in a different colour too.

Team it with...

 T-shirt £15 - Swim Deep  Shoes £34.99 Public Desire  Hat £10 - Boohoo  Cuff Bracelet - GingasGalleria @Bonanza Market - £10.80  Jacket - Allsaints - £299

The Fringed Boots

Boots - Topshop - £82
The thing thats different about this fringed boot is the cut and style, its got a sort of grungy 90s vibe to it mixed with the 70s love of the fringed detail, but behind all that has a classic cut. This is what I call a 'midi' boot as its shorter than the knee length and higher than the ankle boot. Tan fringed boots are perfect for keeping head to toe boho but seen as though the 90s trend is still with us this year, the black fringed boot is perfect for mixing up the two eras of style.

Team it with...

Shorts - PrettyLittleThing - £20  Long Cardigan - Oasis - £32  Top - DHgate - £12.99  Choker - Topshop - £4  Rings - Boohoo - £5

Birthday Wish List.... 2015

Hey Fashion Bunnies,

So I know it seems like totally forever since my last post and Ive so missed blogging but this last few months I have been crazy busy, and as Carrie Bradshaw once said '' I've been cheating on fashion with furniture'' and that is so true.....

These first few months have gone major quick this new year and in that time I have become a homeowner and moved into a lovely, quaint cottage/terrace, moved to the beautiful cathedral city of Lichfield and got a new job in the busy city of Birmingham. Its safe to say I've missed it but I'm back now as we are getting pretty straight in the house and the dressing room is up and running (obvs most important) so to kick things off, my birthdAys coming uo the BIG 25!!! 'Winter Blacks'

Happy new year to all my readers and fashionista's, but where did 2014 go? For me it's been a world wind year but throughout it, there's been some great fashion. As Decemeber was amd always is a very busy month for me with work and family this post is a little late (but better late than never!)

At the beginning of last month I was shopping in Primark and picked up this jumper dress, one of the best items of clothing I have bought for a while and perfect comfort and warmth for A/W. It was also a steal at around £9.00. Going for all classic black I teamed the jumper dress with a faux fur gilet which was an ebay find, and Primark over the knee boots.

Accessories included a fedora, faux leather gloves and a statement necklace which I saw in the early start of the New Look sale although for some reason I don't buy it then and then went back for it the day after and it had disappeared. I read somewhere that ' nothing haunts us like the things we don't buy ' its very true but I was luck as a couple of weeks before Christmas the statement piece turned back up in my home town New Look store.

Some of the faux fur gilets around the shops are now on sale so grab one, there surprisingly very warm and really versatile as you can accompany them with a day or a party dress, or with jeans and more casual wear - highly recommended you get one in your wardrobe.

Hat - Topshop , Dress, Boots and Gloves - Primark ,  Bag (old) - Jaeger (this would look just as lush) , Gilet - Shop on Ebay

Please give me a follow on Bloglovin' and Primania ...

Style Loft FASHION SHOW at Harleyville!!!

Last Saturday Harley's Hairdressing hosted a fashion show of which they do about twice a year. Usually they host with Izzi's of Baslow down at Harley's on Chatsworth Road. On Saturday they hosted it at the original salon of Holywell Street with The Style Loft.

It was a charity event at which the tickets were sold for £5 and half the proceedings went to Ashgate Hospice, along with all the money from the raffle tickets which featured great prices like a Style Loft voucher, Harley's Hairdressing / Interiors vouchers and 5 Red or Dead Handbags....just to name a few!!!

(Harleys Interiors Treasures)

Jewels galore.

Its always such good fun working these glam nights, Style Loft had some fab new stock in just in time for the show to which I styled the models in and worked Harley's Interiors accessories around them. Upstairs were the models got changed it was crazy busy and crazy hot. The heating seemed to be on full blast and the models came through quite quickly so as you can imagine it soon became messy like a teenagers bedroom.

I'd love to become a personal shopper / stylist and these nights are always good as it gives me an opportunity and an idea a to what it is like in the world of fashion. Its stressful, mad and hard work but I do love it and find it a joy. It is a much loved hobby I would like to turn in to a successful and exciting job.

Fave outfit

Piecing together!

A/W Styling

Some of the Harley's Girls did the hair styling for the models and their beautician Zoe did the make up. They all looked so glam and styled the clothes perfectly for each different look and body shape. Harley's Interiors always come up top with the goods as the accessories were stunning and also there's always so much to choose from, it was like an Aladdin's Cave.
