Disney Fashionista's - Alice In Wonderland

Disney: Alice in Wonderland - Alice Free Doll Papercraft Download ... The curious young Alice...    The animated movie sent us all in a spin of crazy but spectacular and peculiar things in Wonderland. Searching in her dreams for the White Rabbit and running through the woods and gardens of the strange land, flat Mary-janes were a very sensible choice for the pretty young lady. But unlike Alice we probably most definitely won't be running into Wonderland any time soon so my outfit spin on Alice is a little more snazzy and also a little 90's Clueless style.
"If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?" - Alice In Wonderland

Top/Skirt - Newlook, Shoes/Socks - Topshop

To give the 'Alice' look a spin I sourced this tartan/check print top with a white collar from Newlook as well as the denim skater skirt. I wanted to add texture to the look and play around with different materials. Instead of white tights add knee socks and as for her Mary-jane's, I've added a little heel. To toughen up the look instead of a silk or chiffon headband I've gone for faux leather to make the ensemble more modern and on trend.

To add to the look of the Alice outfit, Jewellery wise I've sourced down items that represent her time in wonderland, it doesn't have top be these exact pieces but anything like flowers, cats, cards and rabbits etc etc will work wonderfully. I've chosen teacup earrings to represent the Mad Hatters tea party, an Alice in wonderland watch, Rabbit pendant to represent the White Rabbit and a playing card ring to represent the game of Crochet she played with the Queen Of Hearts. This quirky jewellery puts a real spin on the outfit.
